On Planning, Residents’ voices must be organised to be heard – then we will be listened to !

Cllr Hugh Cleaver has been looking at the workings of the Localism Act, and how it is being used elsewhere.

Hugh says “The Localism Act allows an area to put together its own local “neighbourhood” plan to reflect and protect its particular character. This is starting to happen in London and we think it can be done here in South Woodford and our part of Woodford Green.

‘A local plan would supplement the Borough’s policy for deciding a planning application. It allows a community to stress aspects that are of particular concern.”

Cllr Cleaver says “ Residents can organise, so that the local community takes more power over local planning ”
