London bus strike 13 January

by gwynethdeakins on 12 January, 2015

It looks as though there will be a major bus strike tomorrow (Tuesday). It would cause huge disruption to many Londoners trying to go to their work or school or wherever they need to go. Buses across London would be affected from about 4am on Tuesday morning and also the Night buses on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

We hope that even at this late hour the strike may be called off but please be prepared – you can see the latest news on TfL’s web site here.

Transport for London has said that passengers with a Bus & Tram Pass season ticket, 11-15 Zip Oyster photocard or 16+ Zip Oyster photocard with free bus and tram travel, will be able to use their tickets on Tube, DLR and London Overground services on reasonable routes – show your pass to a member of staff, but DON’T touch in or out on the yellow readers or you’ll be charged the “pay-as-you-go” fare. Also Bus & Tram Pass season tickets will be accepted on the Thames Clipper RB1 River Bus service between 06:00-10:00 and 16:30-19:30.

However, you won’t be able to use your Bus & Tram Pass season ticket to travel on National Rail services or on the cable car across the Thames. If you use Oyster pay as you go then you will be charged the normal tube or rail fare.
