The condition of the area behind the shops on the High Road, where the access comes from Hillcrest Road, has been reported to us by a local resident.   Although a lot of rubbish had been dumped, this was on private land and the Council is limited in what it can do without the consent of the owners of the land.

We contacted the Council’s street cleansing department immediately to see what could be done to remove the rubbish and secure the site.

The Council’s street cleaning officers have talked to the High Road business premises. We are pleased to report that the businesses organised  removal of the accumulated rubbish.  Neighbours will welcome their initiative.

We are seeking a longer term solution to the problem so that access is limited to the site but this can only be done with the consent of the owners of the land.
