Councillors voted to introduce free on-street parking at meters, from September, at Budget Council last month.  It follows a successful trial of 30p for 30 minutes’ parking introduced several months ago by Lib Dem Cabinet Member Shoaib Patel.  This will help residents wanting just a quick shop.  And it will help support local businesses.

To make sure it is more widely available near shopping areas, we are now trying to identify extra meter sites.
