Putting Church End First Learn more

Churchfields park is the largest Council space in the Church End area. It is much valued and appreciated, particularly now with the children’s play area.
BUT the underground streams which run down from Woodford New Road area to the Roding turn it into a muddy bog land after wet weather.
The park is operated by Vision, a Trust which manages all the Council’s leisure facilities like Parks and Libraries. Lib Dem Councillors have asked them to consider putting in land drains under the park. These would drain the surface and keep is more usable after wet weather.
Costly – yes indeed. But we are getting money from developers to spend on improving local community facilities. So we think it is at least worth getting some prices for us to consider with residents.
We hope you agree it is worth campaigning to make the park usable all year round!
