Residents around the Horn Lane area have missed the local store since it closed after a fire. After months of rumours we have confirmed that the owner has submitted plans to the Council to extend the roof area with a dormer extension.

The application should be dealt with this month. Repairs and building work can then be done and then shopkeeper can re-open. We presume the shop will be a Londis franchise again.

In the meantime we got the Council to clear up the rubbish that blows around local roads from the front of the shop area. We have also asked them to keep an eye on the area when building work begins.

We have spoken to the Post Office asking them to re-open the post box outside the shop until rebuilding begins, which is unlikely before early summer.
