Putting Church End First Learn more

High Road shops in the stretch between the A406 bridge and St Marys Church had no area to load and unload. CCTV cameras were hitting them with parking fines every time they parked to unload. The Oxfam shop lost customers as people could no longer stop nearby and drop off donations. One trader collected 12 parking fines in a few weeks after opening.
Working with the traders we persuaded the Council to put a loading bay in the road at the end of the bus bay. This allows parking just for loading and unloading.
Redbridge Council is targetting motorists with more parking fines in a bid to raise money. We need to be alert to defend legitimate parking across our area.
