Good news on Residents’ Parking Schemes

by hughcleaver on 16 March, 2014

The Roses:  A number of residents have asked for a parking scheme so Church End Councillors have got Highways officers to hold a formal consultation with residents in these flats.

Priory Close: We are checking with residents to see if they want a Residents Parking scheme for their flats.

Grove RoadResidents in Grove Road were consulted by Highways officers about having a scheme in their area.

Shenfield Road: We have asked Highways officers to consult with residents, and investigate ways to ease the day long commuter parking problems in this road.

And . . . Lower charges for Residents’ Parking Schemes

Your local Councillors got the first residents’ scheme introduced over twenty years ago.  The Council promised us then it would only charge what the scheme cost to run. Our campaign to get charges reduced to that level has been successful.

Charges for a resident’s first car in our scheme areas will be reduced to £45 a year from April.

I live in eagle terrace and needed a van to deliver some items to my house, However the way that people park in Shenfield road meant that neighbours and myself had to carry the items down the road, I feel sorry for the people in Shenfiled road and hope that the issue will be addressed soon, I hope that the cars just don’t move into Eagle Terrace instead as we have limited parking as well.
